Lauren Sarno

I was one of the R.E.S.I.S.T.O.R.S., so I've known Geoff most of my life. I'm glad now that I had a chance to spend quite a bit of time with him in 1998 and 1999, when I was living in the Bay Area.

I am now living in Cambridge, England, so I won't be able to join you for the memorial.

I'm sure all of us who were raised together in Princeton, and spent countless hours together when our minds and characters were just forming, will feel the same deep loss that I do.

Please accept my condolences to all the family.

The last time I saw Geoff was at dinner with David Richey. We were comparing the latest arsenal of gadgets (as in the picture of [[http://m.rho.net/gallery/v/family/Geoff_Peck-2810_IMG.jpg.html][ Too many mobile devices] in the gallery). I complained that my web-enabled phone was disappointingly slow and the screen was too small for anything useful, and he promptly demonstrated something useful by checking the status of his web servers with his phone-enabled PDA.
